Disciplines

Disciplines are vampiric powers and capabilities that have often given rise to old wives’ tales of superhuman speed, strength and endurance possessed by the Damned, along with their piercing gaze, their hypnotic and seductive voices and the unholy power to vanish into shadows and shapeshift into bats, wolves and mist.

Vampires can use a variety of supernatural powers called Disciplines. These are special abilities associated with their curse which, like their undead bodies, are “fed” in a way by the living blood they take from mortals. Many of the Disciplines provide vampires with preternatural means of ensuring their continued existence, or of easing the process of hunting and stealing blood from mortals.

Animalism- A Vampire’s power of the lesser creatures and his connection to his own Beast.
Auspex- A vampire’s ability to percieve what others cannot.
Celerity- A Cainite’s ability to move with incredible speed and evade danger.
Chimerstry- The Ravnos art of warping the perceptions of their victims.
Dementation- the power Malkavians possess to spread their madness to the world around them.
Dominate- A Vampire’s power to overwhelm their victim with their own will.
Dur-An-Ki- The powerful Blood Magic of the Banu Haquim Sorcerers.
Majesty- The Vampire’s ability to twist the emotions and expectations of their victim, binding them in bonds of unnatural devotion.
Mortis- The Lost Art of the Cappadocian Clan, said to grant them power over Death itself as well as the reanimating force of the Curse of Caine.
Necromancy- The Giovanni Art that allows them to speak to and control the dead.
Obfuscate- The Power some Cainites wield to Cloud the minds of their prey and defend themselves from preditors.
Obtenebration- The Lasombra’s ability to warp shadows and darkness to meet their whim.
Protean- The Gangrel’s Ability to infuse their flesh with the power of their Beast transforming themselves into apex preditors.
Quietus- The Assamite art of Assassination, transforming their very Life’s Blood into a lethal Weapon.
Resilience- The Cainite’s preternatural durability, allowing them to shirk off even the most greivous wounds and most potent bains with ease.
Serpentis- the Setite’s ability to bring their serpentine nature to the fore, slowly subsuming their mortal flesh with the Power of their Dark God.
Thaumaturgy- The Unique Blood Sorcery of the Tremere granting them greater control over the innate power of Vitae than any other Cainite has ever evinced.
Valeren- The forgotten art of the nigh-mythical Salubri. Tales of those who possessed this art differ greatly from story to story, claiming that the Salubri could kill with a touch or heal any wound.
Vicissitude- The Corrupt and potent power that the Fiends weild over flesh allowing them to craft themselves and others into macabre monstrosities.
Vigor- A Vampires’ monstrous strength granting them the power to do overwhelm their victims and to rend flesh and bone with ease.
